We’re excited to announce that since our last update, we’ve made significant progress on the Designer Portal. We have completed all of the web page designs, and we’ve now shifted our focus to building out the site itself.
The portal will be a website designed for knitting and crochet designers who want to list their patterns on the Fiber Club mobile app. This will be the place where you can upload, edit and monitor your Fiber Club listings. Designers will be able to customize how they will be represented on the mobile app, manage their contact information, select the best images for their listings, and more. When we add support for paid patterns, it will also be the place where they will be able to monitor performance, sales, and other metrics. For this initial version, we are focusing on all the features related to managing the patterns already available on the Fiber Club mobile beta and on gathering feedback to make sure we are creating a product people like.
Unlike other platforms, patterns and listings on the Fiber Club marketplace will be individually reviewed before they can be listed for download. We are building the preliminary versions of these reviewing systems with the goal being that every pattern on Fiber Club will be of high quality, leading to a better experience for both makers and designers. We will also be requiring designers on our platform to agree with our commitment to diverse and accessible patterns.
Although the Designer Portal is our main area of focus, we are still documenting the feedback we’re getting from the open beta invites. As we continue to get more users on the app and interacting with its functionality, we will also devote some time to make sure we address any bugs and other issues that come up as needed.
As always, we appreciate your support and encouragement as we work to create something truly special. We know that the Designer Portal will be a valuable resource, and we’re excited to share it with you soon. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being a part of our journey!
